The Programme

The debut of the MariinskyOperaBall will take place in late summer, on 17th September. Following the tradition of the Dresden SemperOpernball, it will be a new form of classical entertainment: a night of outstanding music, ballet and – for the first time – multimedia performances, mixing old tradition and modern interpretations.

Opera singers, artists, the Mariinsky orchestra and representative figures from the world of culture will take turns on the glorious stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. In this exclusive setting, where Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov all performed premieres of their masterpieces, another prodigious premiere is about to take place: the first MariinskyOperaBall.

Furthermore it will be a double celebration: inside the blue and golden auditorium as well as outside on the grand Theatre Square – with a live broadcast on giant screens. Everybody is invited to experience this fascinating summer night’s dream.
